Figured Steel Structures Multi-layer Coating Long-term Anti-corrosion Technology

1) Structural Feature:

There are a large quantity of seams and corners which are easy to corrode. 

2) Environmental Factors:

• Due to the poor environment of the construction site, the humidity, temperature and cleanliness of the base material surface are hard to control.

•It is difficult to maintain the anti-corrosion construction. The seam space is narrow, not easy for surface treatment and anti-corrosion construction.

• The corrosive gas content (such as sulfur and chlorine) in the air of the factory is quite high. The humidity is also high. The dust is easy to accumulate in the seam, to cause the electrochemical corrosion and accelerate the corrosion rate.

The multi-layer coating anti-corrosion technology can be classified into the“rigid coating anti-corrosion” plan and the “soft coating anti-corrosion” plan. 

“Rigid coating anti-corrosion” plan is composed of three protective layers closely connected. They are anti-corrosion cream, anti-corrosion belt and fiberglass reinforced protective cover. It can be used in the steel structure connection point and steel structure spherical connection point. 

“Soft coating anti-corrosion” plan is formed by four close protective layers. From the inside to the outside, they are anti-corrosion cream, special-effect anti-corrosion plaster, anti-corrosion belt and fiber reinforced protective belt. It can be used in the spherical connection point of steel structure, the flanged connection of the pipeline valve and vertical tank bottom margin board. 

◆ It applies the cooling construction. It doesn’t need sandblast, flame operation and solidification. The construction is simple.

◆The requirement of the surface treatment is low. It is OK to reach St2 level.

◆ The anti-corrosion cream and belt contain the inhibitor and rust converter which have the dual functions – rust control and rust removal.

◆“Soft anti-corrosion” technology has the good tracing ability on the protection of the expansion and contraction as well as the mechanical deformation of the basic material. Besides, it can fit the basic material in any shape. “Rigid anti-corrosion technology” has the strong performance of the mechanical impact resistance and impaling.

◆The anti-corrosion system has the good impermeability and anti-aging performance. The service life of the inside anti-corrosion is more than 30 years. The duration of the overall anti-corrosion effect is up to over 15 years.
